AT ECHUCA FAMILY ACUPUNCTURE

WALK INS ARE WELCOME

In Chinese medicine winter is associated with water.

Winter has some lessons to teach us, to fully immerse and enjoy the powers of mother nature and the seasons is to truly surrender to it listen and learn what it has to offer us, by listening to our body and taking time to replenish

your reserve, a time to receive and nurture inwardly.

Living in harmony with the seasons is at the core of traditional Chinese medicine.

Adjust to the seasons and keep your body and mind balanced, calm and in optimal condition.  Press PAUSE and TRY ACUPUNCTURE.

During community acupuncture, we treat everyone in a shared space in personal recliners. The shared setting allows us to treat multiple people at one time. This significantly reduces the cost of treatment.

Skin exposure is minimal; we treat points from the knee to the foot, and from the elbow to the hand.

Patients generally talk with their acupuncturist in a private area before the treatment starts.

At the beginning of treatment you simply remove shoes and socks, and roll pants up to your knees and sleeves up to your elbows.

After the needles have been inserted, your job is simply to relax (and let the needles do their work). You can stay as long as you like; most people stay between 20 minutes to an hour.

We have ambient music in the treatment room; however you are welcome to bring iPod’s or other personal listening devices. Some patients enjoy listening to their own music or a guided meditation.

You are also welcome to bring your own neck pillows. To keep you warm, there are blankets in the clinic for your use.

Remember, acupuncture is a PROCESS. It is very rare for any person to be able to resolve a problem completely with one treatment.

Please speak quietly, so that you don’t wake other patients. And of course please turn off your cell phone!

TIPS FOR 1st TIMERS

  • Please keep shoes off when walking around the clinic
  • Put belongings in the basket by your chair
  • Once in your chair take off socks & shoes, roll your pant-legs up to your knees and sleeves up to your elbows
  • We have earplugs available, just ask
  • No scented products/ perfume on the days you are here, thanks!

The soothing atmosphere exists in a community clinic because all of the patients create it by relaxing together. Maintaining this reservoir of calm requires that no one talk much in the clinic space and that when we do, we talk in a whisper.

The purpose of the sliding scale ($20 -$40 per visit and a $15 new patient paperwork fee) is to make sure you can get acupuncture frequently enough to see your desired results. You decide what you can afford. There is never any need to prove your income. Our only goal is for you to be able to find out how useful acupuncture can be for you.   We want you to get great results and tell everyone you know that acupuncture works!

Enjoy your treatment, we’re glad you’re here.
